Things started off strong for the Winchester high football team taking a 14-0 lead after one quarter. Belmont took over in the second half with 15 unanswered points to defeat Winchester 15-14 at Knowlton Stadium in Winchester.
Junior Brian Coutts scored both touchdowns one on the ground, and one in the air. He also ran in the game-winning two-point conversion late in fourth quarter. John Costello rushed for a touchdown three minutes into the first quarter, and Tim Mangano threw for one touchdown to Gerald Nvule late in the opening quarter.
