Senior quarterback Tim Mangano led the offense throwing for two touchdowns as the Winchester High football team won the opening game of the season defeating Greater Lowell Tech. 27-13 at Tyngsboro. He finished the day going 13-19 for 177 yards. John Costello and Dana Marrocco each rushed for a touchdown.
The Sachems started slow as they managed to tie the game at 7 on a last-second touchdown pass from Mangano to George Casey. They put the game away in the second half scoring 20 straight points.
